Tomorrow, Nintendo will roll out its first demo for the 3DS eShop in the form of Resident Evil: Revelations. The upcoming Capcom game has been one of the 3DS’s games-to-watch with its awesome visuals and promise of a return to “true survival horror.”

The game will be the first of many demos to come for the eShop. Upcoming titles include Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and others. With this addition and some other new modes, such as the ability to download content in sleep mode, the 3DS eShop is moving towards a more modern online system. This is good news for the 3DS, as the system’s success could seriously be hurt if Nintendo doesn’t show that it has finally chosen to take online seriously.

So far, there has not been any concrete news as to whether the demos will require payment or not. The buzz has been that Nintendo is offering ways to have users’ access to the demos limited in some way. Satoru Iwata himself stated that developers would be able to add a measure to have demos available for a limited amount of time or a limited number of uses. While this sounds slightly annoying – they are demos after all.

The Resident Evil: Revelations demo comes to the 3DS eShop tomorrow.
